As a florist, January and February are the hardest months. I feel like I am on hold, waiting for Spring to arrive. Wedding enquiries are coming in yet they can’t come quick enough as far as I am concerned.
I was looking through my archives and found these photos from a christening and a wedding anniversary I made a few years ago. The garden roses are insane! Happy days. Hurry up Spring!
This wedding made me smile. It was simple and pretty. Nafiseh’s bouquet was filled with soft David Austin garden roses and pale and pink stock. They held their reception on a boat departing from Butlers Wharf. We delivered simple chop square arrangements filled with sweet peas, garden roses, and astilbe.

Summer arrives and so do the bookings for weddings. This July wedding was a joy to work on. Rachael gave me an idea of her colour scheme and with that we looked at seasonal, pale blush roses and peonies, sweet peas, little touches of darker pinks with a soft greens. I always try to incorporate, where suitable, some herbs. I can’t help myself probably because my other career is as a food stylist and cook.
The highlight of the day for me was pinning 20 – 30 guest’s buttonholes and corsages outside the church. It was such a lovely atmosphere. Al Richardson, their wedding photographer managed to get a snap of me mid flow.
